The Probus Association of Queensland (PAQ) is an association of affiliated Probus Clubs from the Northern Rivers area of NSW and all of Queensland.
Membership is open to any Probus Club within Rotary Districts 9550, 9570, 9600, 9630 and 9640.

The members are the affiliated Probus Clubs.

A joining fee $10 is payable upon application plus an annual subscripition of $25 per annum.

  • PAQ Choristers Group - The group meet regularly on the 2nd and 4th Monday each month at St Andrews, corner Ann & Creek Streets opposite Central Railway Station at 12:15pm -2:15pm Further details on the Choristers activities are contained in the PAQ Choir webpage of this site.   • Guest Speakers- We have received a letter from the Jubilee Community Care Association Inc, a Government funded not for profit organisation that offers in-home care for the frail, aged, and younger disabled people in the inner north and western suburbs of Brisbane. They are happy to provide a speaker to address clubs in their area of operation.   • The PAQ representative on the Police Seniors Task Force Committee has advised that the QPS has police officers employed as Crime Preventiion Officers. Their role is to act as liaison with the community in order to provide crime prevention strategy information, education and advice. This includes providing personal safety presentations free of charge and these can be arranged by appointment. These officers are located throughout the State and their contact details should be readily available at the local police centre. The QPS website also provides a considerable amount of crime prevention advice that is specific to seniors and can be accessed at www.police.qld.gov.au/programs/seniors/.    
  • We have also received a letter from the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation at Greenslopes Private Hospital asking for the opportunity to visit clubs and speak about the invaluable work they do. The Foundation is a medical research charity and works tirelessly to give a second chance to thousands of people who have cancer, liver disease or other incurable diseases. 23 clinical trials are currently being run for patients with life threatening diseases such as metastic melanoma, myeloma, lymphoma, leukaemia and chronic liver disease.   • An email has been received from CICACA (Cochlear Implant Club and Advisory Association) advising they have a guest speaker available to speak to clubs about cochlear implants and the vast difference these can make to one's life. The secretary of CICADA, Shirley Edwards, would be delighted to address your club meeting.   • Older Drivers Study - Queensland University of Technology is seeking Australian Drivers aged 65 years and over to take part in a driving study. All Participants will go into a prize draw to win one of five $100.00 shopping vouchers. To participate, you must be a current driver aged 65 years and older. This project looks at the relationship between driving experience, driving practices and other driving-related factors and will help in understanding the needs and experiences of drivers aged 65 years and over. Participation will involve completing a questionnaire that should take about 30 minutes. Responses will remain completely confidential and anonymous.   • Volunteering - Residential Aged Care Services - Moreton Bay Nursing Care Unit and Redland Residential Care are seeking volunteers for their facilities.   • It Starts at Home - Kathryn Foran is a member of the Oaktree Foundation, a youth led international aid and development organisation. The Foundation's current campaign. 'It Starts at Home', aims to change the way decision makers conceive the support towards ending global poverty by showcasing the personal stories of locals within the community who are taking part in this movement. Over the coming months they will collecting stories from persons who donate, volunteer, fundraise, etc. Anyone with a story about the way in which they assist with this effort is being asked to submit it to http://itstarsathome.com.au.
